The Tiger Oscar is one of my favorite fishes in our classroom. Suprising to say it has a latin name such as Astronotus ocellatus.I like the Tiger Oscar because of its unique colors. It is black and has reddish-orange stripes. Second is of it’s behavior. It’s behavior is also unique. It doesn’t react like other fish. Finally it is known for it’s intelligence and popularity. When it get’s used to something it memorizes it like you would. As you can see the Tiger Oscar is a very unique fish. You may think that being a fish in a classroom is easy but trust me it's probably way more harder than you think. When your a fish in your mind this is what you might be thinking " I hope my owner takes care of me and feeds me or else I'll die!" There physical and behavioral adaptations are: 1.They have rounded caual fins. 2.They are very colorful. 3.They have large mouths to help them eat food. 4.The Tiger Oscar has camouflage. 5.They are semi-agressive which is a great thing for catching prey.
6.What also helps them eat prey is there eyespot at the end of its body.
7. The Astronatus ocellatus are not very alike with the other cichlids because it is one of the most strongest.
The Astronatus Ocellatus is my favorite fish in our classroom. He is very fast on his fins and that to me sounds very delightful! The Tiger Oscar is my favorite fish even outside the classroom. Besides, wouldn't it be fun to live in an aquarium swimming around away from sharks?! That to me sounds like a bonus. Well, that's pretty much it wait one more thing!
